Remittances to Kyrgyzstan fell to $255 million in March

In March, remittances from individuals to Kyrgyzstan totalled $255.2 million. This is $39.3 million, or almost 13.3%, less than in March 2025 ($294.5 million). These figures have been released by the National Bank of the Republic.

As is traditional, the bulk of the inflows came from CIS countries. $235.5 million was transferred to Kyrgyzstan from CIS states (compared to $281.3 million a year ago), accounting for over 92% of all remittances received.

Russia remains the largest source of remittances. In March, $227.7 million was received from there, whereas a year earlier the figure stood at $277.6 million.

Remittances from countries outside the Commonwealth, however, have increased. Whilst in March 2025 the volume of remittances from these countries stood at $13.3 million, in March this year it rose to $19.7 million.

Among countries outside the former Soviet bloc, the United States remains the largest source of remittances. In March, $15 million was received from there, which is almost three times the figure for the same month last year ($5.3 million).

At the end of the first quarter, the total volume of remittances to Kyrgyzstan reached $699.7 million, which is $56.6 million less than in the same period of 2025.

The net inflow of remittances, minus outflows, amounted to $232.2 million in March, compared with $266.5 million a year earlier.
