Kyrgyzstan introduces a temporary ban on the export of timber and timber products

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has adopted a resolution imposing a temporary restriction on the export of timber and timber products outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to the document, the ban applies to timber and timber products classified under HS codes 4401, 4403 and 4407. The restriction is being introduced for a period of six months and comes into force three days after the official publication of the decree.

An exception is provided only for humanitarian aid granted by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The decree also notes that authorised state bodies must strengthen controls to prevent the illegal export of timber. Information regarding the introduction of the measure is to be forwarded to the State Customs Service and relevant international bodies within the specified timeframes.

The previous resolution of 24 December 2025 has been repealed.

The document was signed by the Prime Minister, Akylbek Kasymaliev.
