Previously, to gain access to investment opportunities in the Kyrgyz market, foreign investors were required to travel to the country in person, visit a broker’s office, undergo identification checks, sign documents and only then open an account. This process entailed additional time and financial costs.
Following updates to the regulatory framework and the introduction of digital solutions, the process has been fully moved online. The first company to offer this service was Freedom Broker Kyrgyzstan. Foreign clients can verify their identity remotely, sign a contract and open a brokerage account without visiting an office.
Once an account has been opened, investors gain access to buying shares in global companies, government bonds and other financial instruments available on the Kyrgyz market. Investment portfolios can be managed remotely via a mobile app.
The company notes that the introduction of remote identity verification marks the next stage in the development of digital financial services. According to the broker, the new mechanism will make investment services more accessible to foreign clients and enhance the appeal of the Kyrgyz capital market.
