Money transfers to Kyrgyzstan increased by more than 16%. Russia ensured this growth.

In the first five months of the year, January to May, $1.3672 billion was transferred to Kyrgyzstan. This is 16.2% more than in the same period in 2024 ($1.1766 billion). These figures were provided by the National Bank of the Republic.

In May, Kyrgyzstan received $299.2 million (-4.01% compared to April 2025), which is $45.9 million more than in the same period last year.

The bulk of remittances continues to come from CIS countries, primarily Russia.

From January to May, $1 billion 281.8 million was transferred from Russia to Kyrgyzstan, accounting for more than 98.65% of all remittances from CIS countries and almost 94% of total remittances.

Compared to the same period in 2024 ($1.093 billion), the cash flow from Russia increased by almost $188.3 million.

There was also a moderate increase in remittances from countries outside the CIS. For example, remittances from the United States amounted to $27.6 million in the first five months, compared to $27 million in the same period last year. At the same time, remittances from South Korea decreased from $28.2 million to $1 million, and from Turkey from $6.9 million to $4 million.
