03/16/2026, 13:30At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, lawmaker Saltanat Amanova raised the issue of providing housing for students at higher education institutions and called on the relevant agencies to review the licensing process.
According to her, when issuing licenses, universities must thoroughly verify whether students are provided with dormitory housing. The MP noted that many students face difficulties paying rent.
She also emphasized that many students are forced to work while studying, which can negatively impact their educational progress. Some students work in restaurants for low wages.
The deputy stressed that a unified system for addressing dormitory issues is necessary to ensure the safety and educational progress of students.
