Government securities accounted for 99% of trading on the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange, with turnover exceeding 410 million KGS

Between 9 and 13 March, 37 transactions totalling 410.22 million KGS were concluded on the KFB. Almost the entire trading volume (99.2%) was accounted for by transactions in government securities.

Investor activity was primarily focused on government instruments. Over the week, five transactions were recorded involving 12-month government treasury bills totalling 24.05 million KGS. The average price was 90.40 KGS, and the yield was 10.5%

Even larger volumes were accounted for by government treasury bonds with a two-year maturity. Three transactions were conducted involving these bonds, totalling 382.84 million KGS. The average price of the securities was 86.30 KGS, and the yield reached 13%.

Activity in the corporate market was significantly lower. In the primary segment, only one transaction was recorded – the placement of Dos-Kredobank subordinated bonds worth 43,000 KGS.

In the secondary sector, 28 transactions took place, totalling 3.28 million KGS. Investors’ main interest was in shares of Kyrgyzstan Airports, Kyrgyzneftegaz and Central Asian Investment Holding – sales of these shares reached 2.33 million KGS. There were also transactions involving bonds of First Metal Base LLC worth 0.94 million KGS.

In total, the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange lists securities from 36 companies. At the same time, 99.6% of the trading volume for the reporting period was accounted for by securities of listed issuers.

At the end of the week, market capitalisation reached 213.49 billion KGS, and the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange index stood at 6,126.56 points.
