05/01/2026, 16:36The World Nomad Games will take place in Bishkek and the Issyk-Kul region from 31 August to 6 September. This was announced by the coordinator of the 2026 World Nomad Games, Shairbek Saparbaev, at the BITF-2026 exhibition.
According to him, the Games will last 7 days and cover 2 regions of the country. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 31 August at Bishkek Arena, whilst the main events will take place in Cholpon-Ata.
The organisers have already sent invitations to 100 countries, of which around 50 have confirmed their participation. It is expected that by the start of the Games this number will increase to 100 participants.
The programme comprises three key areas: sport, culture and science. The sporting programme includes competitions in over 40 sports, including traditional forms of wrestling and national games. The cultural programme will take place at separate venues: each country will be allocated its own zone, where participants will showcase the traditions, customs and distinctive features of their culture, folk dances and food festivals.
Ticket sales begin on 15 May. The exact price has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to start at $100.
