10/24/2024, 09:13On the eve at the Jogorku Kenesh meeting, deputies passed a number of bills, including ratification of the agreement on financing the project to improve rural water supply and sanitation in Kyrgyzstan.
The project, funded by the International Development Association, seeks to build new and reconstruct existing drinking water supply and wastewater disposal systems and improve sanitary conditions in the country's settlements.
As a result of the project implementation, it is expected to provide centralised safe drinking water for residents of 11 settlements in Osh oblast, as well as construction of sewerage systems for multi-storey houses in Kurmontu village in Issyk-Kul oblast.
In addition, incentive grants are provided for households to develop sanitation in Osh, Chui and Issyk-Kul oblasts.
The loan for the project is $7.64 million, the loan term - 50 years, grace period - 10 years, interest rate - 0%.
The Jogorku Kenesh also approved an agreement on the elimination of double taxation between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia, as well as an agreement on the establishment of representative offices of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association, the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency in Kyrgyzstan.
