05/09/2026, 16:45Kyrgyzstan will need about $11 billion to meet its emission reduction commitments and implement climate measures. These estimates come from experts in the field of climate finance.
However, the country will be able to cover only 37% of the required amount using its own resources. The remaining 63% requires external international financial support.
This funding is intended for projects related to emissions reduction, sustainable energy development, climate change adaptation, and infrastructure modernization.
Experts note that the issue of climate finance is becoming increasingly important for Kyrgyzstan, as fulfilling environmental commitments requires large-scale long-term investments that are difficult to secure using domestic resources alone.
