On horseback to Kyrchyn: half a million will be allocated for a nomadic caravan, a yurt and food

It is not just the sports venues that are being prepared for the 6th World Nomad Games. The Kurpuldek Aiyl Okmotu in the Panfilov District is planning to organise a genuine nomadic caravan, which is due to travel on horseback over 20 days to the Kyrchyn summer pastures in the Issyk-Kul Region.

A budget of 580,000 KGS has been allocated for organising the journey and the participants’ stay in Kyrchyn. The relevant tender has been published on the public procurement portal.

The caravan itself will cost 100,000 KGS. The riders are due to set off from the village of Kurpuldek on approximately 18 August and, together with the nomadic caravan, travel to the Kyrchyn summer pastures, located about 40 kilometres from Cholpon-Ata.

The most expensive parts of the procurement will be the hire of the yurt and food supplies – 200,000 KGS have been allocated for each of these lots. The technical specifications stipulate a festive 100-rope yurt, which must be erected at Kyrchyn by 28 August. It will be in use until 7 September.

The food must be fresh and delivered to the jayloo by 29 August. A further 50,000 KGS has been set aside for the services of a chef, who will work from 28 August to 7 September. However, the cost of their accommodation is not included in the budget.

The remaining 30,000 KGS are to be spent on a 300-litre freezer. This will be needed to store food throughout the event.

Applications are being accepted until 4 August. No advance payment is required; contractors will be paid the full amount upon acceptance of the services. The payment deadline is set for 29 September.

As a reminder, the 6th World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan this September. The republic was awarded the right to host the competition following the 5th Games, after which Kazakhstan passed the baton to Kyrgyzstan for organising this international event.

The Cabinet of Ministers is acting as the organiser. An organising committee has been set up to prepare for and host the Games, whilst the secretariat functions have been entrusted to the public association ‘International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games’.
