05/21/2025, 11:48On 21 May, the Jogorku Kenesh passed the third reading of the law ‘On Amendments to the Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on Non-Tax Revenues,’ which clarifies how to use money from renting out state property and land.
Now, part of these funds can be allocated not just to the general budget, but specifically to the maintenance of buildings, equipment, land plots and other property that is leased. This will help to keep state property in good order and improve its condition where necessary.
However, there are exceptions: if the property is located in free economic zones or belongs to universities with special status, the money from its lease will still not go directly to the republican budget.
The changes were initiated by MPs Marlen Mamataliev, Kamila Talieva, Nadira Narmatova and Bekmurza Ergeshov.
