Against this backdrop, lending rates moved in different directions. In microfinance organisations, the average rate fell to 29.8 per cent. In credit unions, by contrast, it rose to 25.6 per cent. In specialised financial and credit organisations, the rate stood at 15.4 per cent, also showing a slight increase.
The rise in the proportion of classified loans indicates increased risks in the non-bank financial and credit organisations (NBFC) segment, where borrowers are more frequently facing difficulties in servicing their debts.
