02/19/2025, 09:22The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved the main theme of information work for 2025 - ‘Consumer - in the centre of attention: from balance of interests to fair dispute resolution’. Within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) it is planned to strengthen the protection of buyers, ensuring a balance between the interests of business and society.
The countries of the Union also agreed to review their consumer protection legislation. They have been advised to check how effective their laws are in terms of the safety of goods and services, access to information and dispute resolution mechanisms. This will help identify weaknesses and adapt rules to new market conditions.
The results of these audits will be discussed at the level of the relevant Advisory Committee, which will develop new solutions. It is expected that these measures will lead to a fairer protection of citizens' rights in the common EAEU market.
