A campaign to harvest grain crops has begun in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region

In the village of Otuz-Adyr in the Karasuy district, harvesting is underway for a new variety of wheat called ‘Bagrat,’ which was planted in the autumn.

This new variety is distinguished by its good grain quality and high yield. Last September, wheat seeds were sown on an area of 22 hectares with a sowing rate of 220 kilograms per hectare.

The Department of Agricultural Crops and Horticulture held a ‘Field Day’ to demonstrate agricultural technologies with the aim of spreading the new wheat variety among farmers.
The harvesting of grain crops in the Kara-Suu district began about a week ago. The district has 45,078 hectares of agricultural land, of which 17,000 hectares are occupied by grain crops.

Work on harvesting grain crops is currently ongoing.
