The main topic of the meeting was the development of cooperation between the EAEU countries and Cuba in the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, the establishment of cooperation was discussed, as well as issues of technology transfer, interaction of national regulatory bodies, including on the issues of market regulation and circulation of medicines within the Union.
“The use of Eurasian technology platforms and financial assistance mechanism can contribute to the development of joint cooperation projects. The inclusion of Cuban companies in the production chains of joint ventures in Eurasian Union member states will open up new prospects for cooperation. This may become a practical step towards the rapprochement of our countries in the field of joint development and production of high-tech medicines and biopharmaceuticals,” said Georgy Arzumanyan.
In turn, Chinara Mambetalieva, Deputy Director of the EEC Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation, emphasized the importance of Cuba maintaining its position in the EAEU drug market.

The deputy director added that the recently completed joint project of the EEC and representatives of the Cuban side on translation of the Union Pharmacopoeia into Spanish will contribute to a comfortable transition to the Union segment of the market.
