Former head of the aiyl okmotu in Naryn Province has been detained in connection with a case involving violations in public procurement

The State Committee for National Security announced the arrest of the former head of the Ormon-Khan Aiyl Aimag in the Kochkor District of Naryn Province on suspicion of violations in the conduct of public procurement.

According to the special services, as part of efforts to identify corruption in government agencies, evidence has been uncovered indicating signs of criminal offenses in the area of public procurement within the aforementioned municipality.

According to the conclusion of an expert from the Internal Audit Service under the Ministry of Finance, in 2025, under the leadership of the former head “A.B.K.” in the Ormon-Khan Aiyl Aimag, violations of the requirements of the laws “On Accounting” and “On Public Procurement” were committed. As a result, the state budget suffered damages amounting to 5 million 699 thousand KGS.

On March 31, as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 337, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the suspect was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Naryn City Internal Affairs Department.
