02/17/2026, 11:32According to data from the National Statistics Committee for January–December 2025, the structure of Kyrgyzstan's foreign exports has changed significantly compared to 2024.
In 2025, the main trading partners outside the CIS were Switzerland (16.9% of total exports), the UK (9%), China (5.3%), the United Arab Emirates (4.2%) and Turkey (2.8%).
By comparison, in 2024, the United Kingdom played a leading role, accounting for 30.9% of exports. At that time, Kyrgyzstan actively sold gold to the United Kingdom, but in 2025, gold exports to that country fell by almost 3.7 times. Switzerland, on the contrary, sharply increased its share by almost nine times, China and the UAE also strengthened their positions, while Turkey remained at the same level.
These changes reflect the redistribution of foreign trade and the reorientation of exports to new destinations. The decline in gold supplies to the UK was the main factor in the fall in that country's share of exports.
The diversification of partners and the redistribution of the commodity structure of exports may affect the country's foreign trade revenues in the coming years, making them more dependent on new markets.
