Onion and garlic exports from Kyrgyzstan fell almost 50-fold

For the first quarter of 2025 Kyrgyzstan exported only 166 tons of onions and garlic - this is almost 50 times less than for the same period of 2024, when 8 thousand 209.1 tons were exported. Such data is provided by the National Statistics Committee.

Production supplies to several countries at once stopped: if in 2024 the largest importers of Kyrgyz onions and garlic were Pakistan (2 thousand 234 tons), Uzbekistan (3 thousand 825 tons), Russia (601 tons) and Iraq (575 tons), then in 2025 exports to these countries either significantly decreased or stopped altogether.

The largest volume of products in 2025 was purchased by Uzbekistan - 110.9 tons, while a year earlier deliveries there exceeded 3 thousand 800 tons. In Russia the volumes decreased from 601 to 16.4 tons, in Kazakhstan - from 80 to 16.6 tons.

At the same time, new supplies were recorded in Georgia (22 tons) and Mongolia (0.1 tons), while earlier onions and garlic were not exported there.
