Livestock exports from Kyrgyzstan have almost halved

Livestock exports from Kyrgyzstan have fallen significantly compared to last year. According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, since the beginning of 2025, 30,500 head of cattle, 31,800 sheep and goats, and 1,600 horses have been exported from the country.

For comparison, during the same period in 2024, exports were almost twice as high: 77,900 head of cattle, 70,400 sheep and goats, and 5,100 horses.

The decline in exports is explained by measures taken by the ministry to stabilise meat prices and ensure the domestic market. As a result, exports of cattle decreased by 47,400 head, sheep and goats by 38,600, and horses by 3,500.
