Exports of women's knitwear have decreased almost four times

According to the National Statistics Committee, exports of women's knitwear from Kyrgyzstan have fallen by nearly four times: from 1.8 million pieces between January and July 2023 to 476.5 thousand for the analogous period of this year.

The main reason for the decline was the reduction in deliveries to Russia. If in January-July 2023 Kyrgyz sewing workers sent 1.8 million units of knitted garments to this country, this figure decreased to 456.8 thousand units in 2024. Moreover, four countries - Belarus, Germany, China and the UAE - have stopped purchasing from Kyrgyzstan.

Nevertheless, the United States has increased the volume of purchases of knitted garments from Kyrgyzstan 16 times. However, despite such impressive growth, the actual volumes remained insignificant: while in 2023 the US purchased only 7 units, in 2024 - 111 units. Uzbekistan, on the other hand, showed a more significant increase. An increase of 6.6 thousand units, resulted in the purchase of 11 thousand 791 units of women's knitwear.
