Exports to countries in the region reached $2 billion 462.6 million, while imports amounted to only $851.2 million. The foreign trade surplus with Europe exceeded $1.6 billion.
This trend can be attributed to two factors:
— a sharp increase in gold supplies, which amounted to $2 billion 506 million 123.6 thousand in 2024;
— as well as a reduction in imports of European goods, which fell almost fourfold compared to 2022.
For comparison, two years ago Kyrgyzstan imported more from Europe than it exported, with a trade deficit of $1.9 billion.
