Deposit Protection Fund increases assets to 11.1 billion KGS over the first half of the year

The Kyrgyzstan Deposit Protection Fund increased its assets by 14.7 per cent in the first half of 2026, bringing the total to 11 billion 135.4 million KGS.

Between January and June, the fund’s assets grew by 1 billion 425.1 million KGS. The main source of this growth was regular membership contributions from participating banks, which totalled 842.6 million KGS. The fund received a further 582.5 million KGS from investment income generated by the placement of its accumulated funds.

The growth in the fund’s size strengthens its financial stability and expands its capacity to fulfil its key objective — ensuring guaranteed payments to bank depositors in the event of an insured claim.

The Deposit Protection Fund is financed through compulsory contributions from banks participating in the deposit guarantee scheme, as well as income from the investment of its own assets. The accumulated funds serve as the financial basis for protecting depositors’ interests and maintaining confidence in Kyrgyzstan’s banking system.
