The Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the Bishkek City Hall has initiated a large-scale project to develop the city's road network. An announcement has been published on the public procurement portal seeking a contractor to carry out design and survey work on five key sites in the capital.
The total planned amount of the tender is 15 million 600 thousand KGS. The projects cover both the reconstruction of existing highways and the construction of new connecting junctions with bridges and overpasses.
According to the tender documentation, the work is divided into five lots:
- Construction on Yunusaliyeva Street (3.5 million KGS), which involves connecting Yunusaliyeva Street with Suyumbaeva Street across the railway (by means of a piercing/overpass) on the section from Gorky Street to L. Tolstoy Street.
- Reconstruction of Skryabin Street (4.4 million KGS): The project includes the construction of a bridge across the Ala-Archa River on the section from Maldybaeva Street to Yunusaliyeva Street.
- Development of Kyrgyz Street (4.4 million KGS): Reconstruction of the road from Saadaeva Street to the Northern Bypass with the construction of a bridge.
- Renovation of Mahatma Gandhi Street (2 million KGS): Design of the reconstruction of the section from Saadaev Street to the Northern Bypass.
- Construction of Bakaev Street (1.3 million KGS): Work on the section from Akhunbaev Street to Minzhilkiev Street.
