The State Committee for National Security clarified the situation with the detention of a Kazakh citizen

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan provided details of the criminal case against Kazakh citizen Z.A., who was detained on suspicion of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds on an especially large scale.

The case was initiated following a statement by Kyrgyz citizen Z.N., who reported the theft of funds belonging to him. The amount in question is US$2.5 million. During the investigation, the information was confirmed and Z.A. was detained. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of arrest for the duration of the investigation.

According to the SCNS, the accused admitted his guilt and began to compensate for the damage. In this regard, the investigation is considering the possibility of changing the preventive measure to a milder one, not involving deprivation of liberty.

The committee emphasised that the investigation is being conducted in strict accordance with Kyrgyz law and that the rights of citizens are protected.

It should be noted that, according to information from open sources, the case concerns a detained businessman from Kazakhstan, Almaz Zaripov.
