At the meeting, the head of the Cabinet praised the successes of Kyrgyzstan's universities, noting that their presence in the ranking demonstrates the progress of the republic's higher education system.
“This first success is an indicator that thanks to the purposeful work on improving the quality of education, increasing scientific activity, strengthening international relations, we can achieve real results. However, no matter how important the current achievements are, we must look to the future and continue to work on improving our position,” he said.
Akylbek Zhaparov added that the common goal is to create strong and competitive universities that will not only meet the highest international standards, but also actively develop the educational and scientific potential of the region.
“It is difficult to overestimate the significance and importance of this work, because without it it is impossible to achieve modernization of the whole Kyrgyzstan,” he continued.
At the meeting, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed the need to continue modernizing university infrastructure, creating innovations, supporting scientific research and strengthening academic reputation.
He said that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to expand the number of budgetary places in universities in priority areas. In particular, this year 4 thousand budgetary places have been created for training specialists in the field of IT.
