State Tax Service warns of new fraud schemes

The State Tax Service draws the attention of taxpayers to the increasing number of fraud cases involving the use of the agency's name. Attackers, posing as employees or officials of the State Tax Service, try to seize personal data and money of citizens through messengers and other communication channels.

According to the STS, fraudsters use various methods of social engineering, offering “help” in solving tax issues or threatening sanctions. Such messages may contain links to phishing sites or requests for sensitive information, including bank card details.

“The IRS never asks for personal information or payment details via messengers or over the phone. Any such contact is a fraud and should be ignored,” the press service of the STS emphasized.

If you receive suspicious messages or calls from persons representing themselves as employees of the State Tax Service, you should contact law enforcement authorities.

We would like to remind you that up-to-date information about STS activities is available on the official website of the service and in its official social networks.
