06/06/2026, 11:31Officials from the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic carried out preventive raids, which led to the discovery of tobacco products being sold without excise stamps in the cities of Kant and Bishkek.
In the town of Kant, in the Ysyk-Ata district of the Chui region, 2,276 packets of cigarettes without excise stamps, with a total value of 273,120 KGS, were seized from the ‘Myrzabek’ shop.
Also, at the Alamedin Market in Bishkek, 650 packets of cigarettes without excise stamps, worth 78,000 KGS, were discovered and seized in one of the market stalls.
Following the raids, the relevant tax inspection reports were drawn up, and the case files were handed over to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
Under current legislation, the sale of up to 200 units of excise goods without excise stamps is punishable by a fine of 100,000 KGS. The sale of quantities exceeding this limit carries criminal liability, including imprisonment for up to seven years.
