Kyrgyzstan intends to boost the export potential of its agricultural produce

Danyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, took part in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026, where he outlined the country’s approaches to ensuring food security and developing the economy in the face of global changes.

Speaking at the session ‘The role of EAEU countries in shaping international agricultural markets’, he noted that Kyrgyzstan intends to increase the export potential of agricultural products and develop their deep processing. According to him, government support measures, the introduction of modern sanitary and veterinary standards, the development of water management technologies and scientific cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union play an important role in this.

Amangeldiev also stated Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to participate in joint investment projects to establish logistics centres and develop aquaculture.

At the session ‘The Economy of the New World Order: Structural Transformation, Challenges and Opportunities’, the First Deputy Prime Minister addressed issues relating to changes in the global financial and trading system. He emphasised that, against the backdrop of the transformation of international economic ties, Kyrgyzstan is strengthening its position as a regional transit and trade hub.

According to him, the republic is utilising the geographical advantages of Central Asia to stimulate domestic economic growth and enhance the resilience of the regional economy.

In addition, Daniyar Amangeldiev took part in the plenary session of SPIEF 2026 as a guest of honour. During the event, heads of state and representatives of international business discussed the prospects for the global economy and the development of multilateral cooperation.
