"Matkasymov" Expands Production and Export with Support from Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund

The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund has signed agreements to finance a second project with the manufacturing company Matkasymov LLC. The Fund is allocating $1.5 million for a large-scale expansion of production capacity and the launch of five new lines of lightweight furniture.

Matkasymov LLC has a modern workshop covering more than 2,600 square meters on a 2.17-hectare site and produces four product lines: TV accessories, home goods under the Taza Kiyim brand, metal enclosures, and custom orders. The company already competes successfully with imports, accounting for up to 30% of the domestic market, and exports 25–28% of its products to Kazakhstan and Russia, confirming the interest in Kyrgyz furniture in the EAEU countries.

Funding from the RCF will enable the company to modernize its production. In particular, it will purchase and install high-tech equipment, including thermoplastic machines, laser cutting machines, welding robots, woodworking equipment, 3D CNC pipe benders, and more. The money will also be used to replenish working capital. The company plans to launch five new series of home furniture: Ak-bosogo (living room), Jenil ashkana (kitchen), Kosh keliniz (hallway), Tekcheler (shelves), and Den sooluk (bathroom). All lines are designed for the mass consumer segment.

The new project will create 124 jobs.

“We always say that Kyrgyzstan's main wealth is its people. And it is businesspeople like Matkasymov who can achieve the goals that will make it possible to create a modern IKEA in Central Asia—in Kyrgyzstan. The project we signed today will triple the production capacity of the Matkasymov plant from 430,000 to 1.3 million units and establish full-scale deliveries to the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and other countries and the EAEU,” said Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Board of the Kyrgyz Republic Investment and Development Agency.

The furniture market in Kyrgyzstan is 90% dependent on imports. The new project will significantly reduce this share, boost employment, increase tax revenues, and strengthen the country's export potential.

According to representatives of the fund, the renewed cooperation with Matkasymov LLC confirms the effectiveness of the business and the success of the previous project. The RCF will continue to invest in initiatives that make a real contribution to the economic development of Kyrgyzstan.
