Imports of petroleum coke and bitumen to Kyrgyzstan rose by 46% — Kazakhstan proved to be the most expensive supplier

In January–February of this year, Kyrgyzstan imported 30,200 tonnes of petroleum coke and bitumen worth $11.78 million. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports rose by 46.3% and the value by 70.3%.

The bulk of imports came from Kazakhstan — 18,000 tonnes worth $8.13 million. Imports from Russia totalled 11,900 tonnes worth $3.55 million, from Uzbekistan — 179.3 tonnes worth $72,600, and from Turkmenistan — 100 tonnes worth $29,100.

Russia showed the greatest growth in volume – imports from the country more than doubled (+108%) compared with the same period last year. Kazakhstan retained its status as the largest supplier, increasing supplies by 21.3%.

The average price per tonne varies significantly between countries. The highest figure was recorded for Kazakhstan — around $451 per tonne. This is followed by Uzbekistan ($405) and Russia ($299). The lowest price was in Turkmenistan — around $291 per tonne.
