Talas innovations: the Ministry of Defence takes an interest in bean protein

Based on six years of research and practical experience, Talas entrepreneur Ruslanbek Kenzhaliev has developed an environmentally friendly protein from beans, known as “nomad food”.

The product is highly nutritious compared to meat, easily digestible and suitable for people of all ages, from children to the elderly. Currently, production is entirely manual and amounts to about 1.5 tonnes per month, but demand significantly exceeds supply.

According to the entrepreneur, the product is especially beneficial for people with diabetes, athletes, and healthy eaters. Bean protein helps lower blood sugar, cleanse the body, and increase energy. The Ministry of Defence has also expressed interest in the product, and preliminary negotiations are underway to use it as food for military personnel.

To expand production, the entrepreneur plans to build a workshop that complies with HACCP standards. This is expected to protect farmers from sharp drops in bean prices and open up export opportunities. If the workshop is launched, production could increase to 20 tonnes per month, creating a stable market for local farmers.
