Foreign investors earned three times as much as the $400 million figure in Kyrgyzstan

In 2025, foreign investors were credited with $409 million in investment income in Kyrgyzstan. This is 14.7 per cent more than the previous year, according to the National Bank.

At the same time, Kyrgyz companies, banks and other residents earned $134.3 million from their investments abroad. It follows that foreigners earned roughly three times as much in Kyrgyzstan as the country’s residents did abroad.

The difference between these figures amounted to almost $275 million, to Kyrgyzstan’s disadvantage. If we also take into account the earnings of foreign workers in the country and those of Kyrgyz nationals abroad, the total gap reached $282.5 million. A year earlier, it stood at $240 million.

However, this does not mean that the entire $409 million was taken out of Kyrgyzstan. A significant portion of the sum consists of profits that foreign owners have left in local companies for further development.

Thus, in 2025, the difference between the income of foreign investors in Kyrgyzstan and that of Kyrgyz nationals abroad increased by $42.5 million, or 17.7 per cent.
