11/03/2025, 16:18From January to August, Kyrgyz citizens sent $266.5 million abroad, most of it to Russia. These figures were provided by the National Bank.
Of this amount, $45.3 million was transferred in August. This is almost twice as much as in January this year ($22.9 million) and $9.3 million more than in August 2024.
While in 2024 there was a downward trend in outflows at this time, this year there has been an upward trend. More than 90% of outflows are transfers to CIS countries.
Where did the money go?
Outside the CIS, the largest amounts went to Turkey — $20.5 million. The other destinations are less significant:
