04/16/2026, 17:25Talks were held in Washington between Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The parties discussed expanding cooperation in trade, economic, and investment spheres, as well as issues related to civil aviation, sanctions policy, and visa facilitation.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, Kasymaliev conveyed greetings from President Sadyr Zhaparov and emphasized the importance of the “C5+1” format as a key platform for dialogue between the countries of Central Asia and the United States. He noted that last year’s meeting of leaders gave additional impetus to regional cooperation.
During the talks, the Prime Minister also presented macroeconomic indicators. He noted that in 2022–2024, Kyrgyzstan’s economy grew by over 9% annually, and by the end of 2025, the growth rate reached 11.5%.
“We view the United States not only as a key partner but also as a global leader in scientific and technological development. Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding partnership in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies,” stated Adylbek Kasymaliev, adding that a series of meetings with leading U.S. technology corporations took place during his visit.
The results of the political consultations held in Washington, which covered a wide range of bilateral issues, were discussed separately. With a view to further strengthening cooperation, the Prime Minister invited Rubio to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan at his convenience.
