Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund considers entering Kyrgyzstan's stock market

Today, a meeting was held between the management of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange and the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund, the key outcome of which was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.

The parties focused on the AKDF's plans to enter the Kyrgyz stock market.

According to the memorandum, the Fund intends to provide financing to its borrowers through exchange-traded instruments and to increase the share of such operations to 5% of its investment portfolio within the next three years.

The cooperation document was signed by Acting President of the KSE Aida Chodulova and Co-Chairs of the AKDF Board Igbala Alijan ogly Babayev and Zamirbek Osmonov. Talant Omuraliev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the KSE, and Azamatbek Zhorobekov, member of the Board of Directors of the AKDF, also participated in the negotiations.

‘The signing of the memorandum opens up new prospects for attracting investment and increasing the liquidity of exchange instruments. The exchange is ready to support the fund and its projects at all stages, from listing to initial public offerings,’ emphasised Aida Chodulova.

The AKDF was established in 2022 on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Its goal is to finance investment projects and deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.
