Kyrgyz Project Recognized Among Top Participants at Green Eurasia Climate Competition

Eldik Bank JSC took second place in the international climate competition "Green Eurasia" in the category "Public Administration and Financing of Climate Projects." The award was presented by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Akhmatov on the sidelines of the IV Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk. A total of 295 projects from 16 countries, including India, Iran, China and the EAEU countries, participated in the competition.

The Kyrgyz bank's award-winning project is related to the development of small hydropower plants in energy-deficient regions. In particular, the SHP in the Batken region will be able to supply electricity to more than 2,000 households, reducing losses and carbon footprint, as well as creating more than 200 jobs. Another project in the Chui region will reduce the region's dependence on imported electricity by 1-2%.

This award is not the first in the bank's portfolio: earlier, on 28 January, Eldik Bank became the first in Kyrgyzstan to receive an international ESG rating from S&P Global. With a score of 45 points, it outperformed the global financial industry average (37 points), confirming its reputation as an institution focused on sustainable development and climate initiatives.
