Kyrgyzstan has reached an agreement with companies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the development of drip and sprinkler irrigation

The ‘Kyrgyzsuudolboor’ Water Management Design Institute has signed memoranda of cooperation with companies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The parties plan to jointly develop modern irrigation systems and adapt them to the climatic and hydrological conditions of Kyrgyzstan.

A delegation from the company, led by Chairman of the Board Ermek Durusaliyev, visited Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from 15 to 18 September.

In Almaty, representatives of “Kyrgyzsuudolboor” held talks with “ADAMANT Inc.” LLP. The main topics were the introduction of drip and sprinkler irrigation, as well as the development of project solutions for Kyrgyzstan. Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

In Tashkent, the Kyrgyz delegation met with the companies DEBYUT, ‘AgroTomçi suğoriş tizimlari’ and ‘Aqua Consult’. Representatives of ‘Kyrgyzsuudolboor’ familiarised themselves with the production of equipment for modern irrigation systems and also signed a memorandum of cooperation with their Uzbek partners.

Going forward, the parties intend to develop the exchange of expertise, joint project design and the adaptation of water-saving technologies to conditions in Kyrgyzstan.

It is expected that the introduction of drip and sprinkler irrigation will reduce water losses and improve the efficiency of irrigated agricultural land.
