Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan strengthen trade and economic ties

At the invitation of Minister of Economy Bakyt Sydykov, a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, headed by Acting Minister of Trade and Industry Nouruddin Aziz, arrived in the country.

During the talks, the parties emphasized the importance of this visit for intensifying and expanding bilateral cooperation. Kyrgyzstan expressed interest in finding new mutually beneficial areas covering promising sectors of the economy.

Special attention was paid to digitalization—Kyrgyzstan is ready to share its experience with Afghan partners.

The parties also agreed to open trading houses in both countries to strengthen economic ties.
Following the meeting, a road map for the development of cooperation and a memorandum of understanding in the trade and economic sphere were signed.
