Kyrgyzstan and China launch the ‘250 Production Lines’ programme

Bakyt Torobaev, the President’s Special Representative for Special Assignments, held talks with a delegation from the People’s Government of Shandong Province. The main topic of the meeting was the implementation in Kyrgyzstan of the ‘250 Production Lines’ programme using modern technologies.

The parties discussed the launch of production facilities in all regions of the country. The project is aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses and expanding the processing sector. The focus is on practical cooperation, with an emphasis on specific industrial projects.

It was noted that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China is developing dynamically. The agenda includes joint initiatives in industry, processing, and the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Upcoming international events, including the anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the World Nomad Games, are providing a further boost to cooperation.

The Chinese side expressed interest in expanding cooperation and gave a positive assessment of Kyrgyzstan’s economic performance. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to launch practical work in the near future and to maintain regular contacts at the level of relevant mechanisms.

The initiative involving 250 production lines could become one of the key elements of industrial policy aimed at reducing import dependency and developing the regional economy.
