Kyrgyzstan and Russia will jointly study museum artefacts and the history of the Kyrgyz people

The National History Museum has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Altai State University.

A meeting was held at the National History Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic to discuss X-ray fluorescence analysis of museum artefacts and the development of academic cooperation.

The museum’s director, Professor Zhyldyz Bakashova, met with the director of the ‘Great Altai’ Scientific and Educational Centre for Turkology and Altaic Studies at Altai State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor Yulia Lysenko, Maxim Gerasyumuk, Director of the University’s Department of External and Internal Communications; Irina Smolyaninova, Head of the Press Centre at the ‘Great Altai’ Scientific and Educational Centre; and Zhamiykat Omurova, Director of the ‘Great Altai’ Centre’s representative office at Kyrgyz National University.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues relating to the expansion of scientific and cultural cooperation, the study of museum collections, and the implementation of joint research projects.

Following the event, an important cooperation agreement was signed between the parties. In accordance with the memorandum, X-ray fluorescence analysis will be carried out on unique exhibits from the National History Museum, and cooperation will be established to obtain digital copies of materials relating to the history of the Kyrgyz people, discovered in the Altai region.
