Kyrgyzstan plans to attract French tour operators as part of a familiarisation tour in 2027

Kyrgyzstan and France intend to expand their cooperation in the field of tourism, including promoting Kyrgyz tourist itineraries on the European market and implementing joint historical and cultural projects.

This was announced following a meeting between Eduard Kubatov, Director of the State Agency for Tourism Development under the Cabinet of Ministers, and Nicolas Faye, the French Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.

The parties discussed the promotion of the ‘In the Footsteps of the Great Manas’ tourist route on the European market. It is expected that this will enable French tourists to discover the ‘Manas’ epic and Kyrgyzstan’s historical and cultural heritage.

GARTO also thanked the French Embassy for its assistance in adapting the cultural content of the National History Museum, including the translation of catalogues and the launch of audio guides in French.

Furthermore, the Kyrgyz delegation, together with representatives of the domestic tourism sector, will take part in the IFTM Top Resa international exhibition in Paris, which is due to take place next week. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by a single national stand.

The meeting also discussed the organisation of the ‘Central Asia–European Union’ international tourism forum in Kyrgyzstan in May 2027. The French side was invited to participate in shaping the forum’s programme and selecting its panel of experts.

In the run-up to the forum or as part of it, a familiarisation tour of Kyrgyzstan for French tour operators is planned for spring 2027. It is hoped that the familiarisation tour will help establish direct contacts between travel companies in both countries and lead to new agreements.
