Four social facilities for children have opened in Bishkek

Four social facilities were opened in Bishkek to mark the 35th anniversary of independence. President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening ceremony via an online format.

One of the facilities opened was the new Young Technicians’ Centre at 740 Shabdan Baatyra Street. Rahat Musaeva, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek for Social Affairs, attended the ceremony. 

The five-storey building, with a total area of 2,563 square metres, is designed to support the all-round development of children. It houses classrooms, a library, a museum, an astronomical observatory, a conference hall, an assembly hall, a dance studio and a sports hall. The grounds feature areas for model car racing and go-karting, a workout zone and spaces for practical activities. The opening was accompanied by a festive programme featuring songs and creative performances, and refreshments were also organised for the children.

A new nursery with 280 places has opened in the ‘Birimdik-Kut’ residential estate. The facility was presented by Nasipbek Kerimov, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek and Director of the Fuel and Energy Complex Department at Bishkek City Council. The two-storey building comprises 12 groups, each with playrooms and sleeping quarters, as well as music and sports halls, a medical room, a kitchen and other necessary facilities. Nine play areas have been set up on the grounds.

The new building of Secondary School No. 23 at 281 Zhibek Zholu Avenue is designed to accommodate 700 pupils. The opening ceremony was attended by Atay Muratbek, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek responsible for land use, architecture, construction and digitalisation. The three-storey building, which includes a basement, houses classrooms, computer rooms, laboratories, a library, a medical unit, a canteen, an assembly hall and a sports hall, as well as rooms for clubs and creative activities. The grounds have been landscaped and feature sports pitches and a workout area.

Separately, in Microdistrict 5, construction of an additional teaching block for Secondary School No. 3 has been completed. The new block is designed to accommodate 500 pupils. Ramiz Aliyev, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, attended the opening ceremony. The building comprises classrooms, a sports hall and an assembly hall, a canteen, a medical room, administrative offices, a staff room, and rooms for music and singing lessons. The grounds feature mini-football, basketball and volleyball pitches, a workout area and a 100-metre running track.

The Capital Construction Department of Bishkek City Council acted as the client for the construction of these facilities.
