03/13/2026, 16:41Chyngyz Esengul uulu, Kyrgyzstan's trade representative in Turkey, met with Hakan Sefa Çakır, chairman of the board of directors of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO), in the city of Mersin.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on the development of agriculture and food trade.
After the official meeting, an extended working meeting was held with representatives of companies involved in the import and export of dry food products. Particular attention was paid to the trade in beans, which is a key commodity in the agricultural trade between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The Turkish side noted that trade volumes are influenced by the quality of exported beans, bean size, as well as global price trends and other factors.
During the discussions, the need to develop direct business ties between Kyrgyz producers and Turkish importers to improve product quality and production efficiency was also emphasized, as well as the advisability of cooperating with the Turkish Seed Growers Union to improve the quality of seed material.
During his visit to Mersin, the trade representative also familiarized himself with the production activities of Saysan Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Dervişoğlu Bakliyat A.Ş., and Tat Bakliyat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., and held talks with their management. During the meetings, key areas of cooperation were discussed, such as: expanding exports of beans from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey; developing sustainable trade relations in the field of agricultural products;
attracting investment to the Kyrgyz Republic to stimulate production capacity and improve the quality of export products.
In addition, it was proposed to organize B2B meetings between Kyrgyz producers and Turkish importers, which will serve as an important tool for increasing trade volumes and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
