Kyrgyzstan to receive $959 million by 2030: where the money will be allocated

Kyrgyzstan will receive $959 million from international banks by 2030 — the money will be allocated to roads, energy, business and agriculture. Part of the funds will be provided free of charge.

The Budget Committee has approved framework agreements with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Asian Development Bank, opening up access to a substantial funding package.

With the support of the EBRD and the ADB, Kyrgyzstan will receive funds in the form of loans and, in part, grants. The main flow is expected between 2026 and 2029 and will be directed towards infrastructure and economic development across the country.

It is planned to secure around $400 million from the EBRD – the money will go towards municipal infrastructure, irrigation, transport and roads. The ADB, in turn, will allocate around $500 million as early as 2026–2027, of which $50 million will be a grant. These funds will be directed towards supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, the energy sector, agriculture, climate projects, as well as the social sector and waste management.

Kyrgyzstan is strengthening its cooperation with international financial institutions against the backdrop of the need to modernise infrastructure and support the economy.
