Kyrgyzstan has invited Cyprus to the “Bishkek+25” Global Mountain Summit in 2027

Kyrgyzstan has invited Cyprus to participate in the Second Global Mountain Summit, “Bishkek+25,” to be held in Bishkek on October 21–23, 2027. The invitation was extended during a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

On September 24, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos. At the conclusion of the talks, the Kyrgyz side invited the Cypriot delegation to join the upcoming summit.

“Bishkek+25” will be one of the key international events within the framework of the Five-Year Action Plan for the Development of Mountain Regions for 2023–2027. At the summit, Kyrgyzstan plans to take stock of this initiative and identify further areas for international cooperation on sustainable development of mountainous territories, ecosystem conservation, and adaptation to climate change.

The summit is scheduled for October 21–23, 2027, in Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan is already inviting foreign countries and international organizations to participate.

In addition to the mountain agenda, Kulubayev and Kombos discussed the development of bilateral relations. The Kyrgyz side proposed holding the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and expanding the legal framework.

The parties paid particular attention to trade and investment, as well as cooperation in tourism, agriculture, transportation and logistics, energy, and IT. The meeting also addressed Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the European Union and the ratification of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
