Kyrgyzstan attracted nearly $1 billion in external financing in 2025

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan received $981.3 million in sovereign financing from international donors, according to data from the Eurasian Stabilisation and Development Fund.

The main donors were international financial organisations, which provided the largest support packages – $385.4 million, $255.6 million and $100 million.

The largest amount of funds was directed to the water supply sector — $201.4 million — and to the energy sector — $92.4 million. Significant resources were also allocated to economic policy ($273.2 million) and infrastructure ($60.7 million).

Total financing amounted to $981.3 million, of which $799.7 million was investment financing, $164.7 million was stabilisation financing, and technical assistance amounted to $16.9 million.

Funding was predominantly provided in the form of loans — 82.7%, whilst the share of grants stood at 17.3%. The US dollar remains the main currency (73%), with the remainder in euros.

A total of 55 operations were recorded, including investment projects, technical assistance and stabilisation funding.
