05/07/2026, 17:57Petrol imports have fallen in Kyrgyzstan. In January–February this year, 133.9 million litres of fuel were imported into the country — 22% less than in the same period last year. Meanwhile, expenditure on petrol purchases exceeded $58.8 million.
According to foreign trade data, in the first two months of 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported over 171 million litres of petrol worth $73.8 million. Thus, the volume of supplies fell by 37.2 million litres, and the cost of imports by almost $15 million.
Russia remains the main supplier of petrol to Kyrgyzstan. It accounted for 131.8 million litres of fuel out of the total volume of imports. However, supplies from Russia also fell – by approximately 22%. The cost of Russian petrol amounted to $57.7 million.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan increased its fuel purchases from other EAEU countries. Petrol imports from Kazakhstan rose by almost one and a half times – to 1.16 million litres. Supplies from Belarus also increased, reaching 949,300 litres.
