The main decline was in imports, which fell by 12.3% to $3.86 billion. Exports also declined by 8.2% to $730.3 million.
Interestingly, against the backdrop of a general decline in trade with the CIS, trade with the EAEU, on the contrary, grew from $1.69 billion in January–April 2024 to $1.78 billion in 2025. The EAEU countries account for the bulk of Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade.
Europe, on the other hand, reduced its share, with trade falling by almost 25%: from $519.7 million in 2024 to $389.3 million in 2025. It is possible that the geography of Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade is changing, with a growing focus on partners in the CIS and waning interest from European markets.
