04/06/2026, 09:23Kyrgyzstan plans to establish Central Asia’s first competence centre for live-line working technologies. The initiative was presented at the ENERGOPROM international electricity forum in Kazan.
A cooperation agreement was signed by the National Electricity Grid of Kyrgyzstan and the Grid Company. The document provides for the introduction of technologies for maintaining power grids without disconnecting consumers, as well as the establishment of a specialised training centre.
The agreement was signed by the heads of the companies — Ilgiz Sydygaliyev and Ilshat Fardiev. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Taalaibek Ibraev, the Minister of Energy of Russia, Sergey Tsivilev, and the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The project involves not only training specialists for Kyrgyzstan, but also training personnel for countries in the region – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. There are also plans to adapt the regulatory framework, introduce modern operational methods and exchange international expertise.
It is expected that the introduction of these technologies will reduce the number of power cuts, minimise grid losses and improve the quality of energy supply for businesses and the general public.
The initiative is being implemented under a cooperation agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Tatarstan and is scheduled to run from 2025 to 2027. In the long term, the project may include the localisation of electrical equipment production and the establishment of a joint venture.
