04/04/2026, 13:30Kyrgyzstan intends to expand agricultural exports to Russia and strengthen cooperation in veterinary medicine and science — such agreements were reached during talks in Moscow.
A meeting took place in Moscow between the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erlist Akunbekov, and the Russian Minister of Agriculture, Oksana Lut, and the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert.
The parties discussed expanding supplies of Kyrgyz products — ranging from meat and dairy to processed and fish products — to the Russian market. They also discussed increasing imports of breeding livestock from Russia and launching joint scientific and veterinary projects, including the supply of vaccines and the training of specialists.
Russia remains one of Kyrgyzstan’s key trading partners, and the agricultural sector is one of the country’s main areas of export and employment.
In December 2025, the countries signed a cooperation plan for the agro-industrial sector. The recent meeting in Moscow effectively marked a step towards its practical implementation — with a focus not only on trade, but also on technology, science and product safety.
